The Shambhala Sun is Not Just a Magazine
We are foremost about creating important and helpful conversations to serve the community of people who passionately hold a common aspiration: May the genuine Dharma flourish and bring benefit to sentient beings and our human society.
The aspiration: May the genuine Dharma flourish and bring benefit sentient beings and our human society.
One limitation we feel about print publishing is that, for the most part, it is only a one-way conversation. We print the magazine, send it off, then start on the next one.
This has inspired us to find new ways to serve our community of readers beyond the pages of the magazines. New initiatives include the web, prison outreach, audio and video recordings of our interviews, our on-line Gallery featuring the work of great artists and teachers, intimate salons, public teachings, books….
And of course, as always
The Shambhala Sun magazine and Buddhadharma: The Practitioner’s Quarterly —print publications that bring you Thich Nhat Hanh,The Dalai Lama, Pema Chodron, Joseph Goldstein, Sharon Salzberg, Natalie Goldberg, bell hooks, Norman Fischer, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche…the list goes on.
