Congratulations to Jan Willis, Outstanding Woman in Buddhism

She’s an an author, scholar, professor, and a TIME magazine Spiritual Innovator for the New Millennium. Now Dr. Janice Willis can add “Outstanding Woman in Buddhism” to her CV.

Our friends at Wisdom Publications are reporting on their new blog that she is to be honored with the title at an award ceremony in Thailand, in March 2009.

We here are fans of Jan; she’s appeared in both Shambhala Sun and Buddhadharma (of which she was on a recent cover). Our congrats to her.

To get an idea of Jan’s thoughtful, inclusive, wise writings, you’d do well to check out this short piece, originally published in Buddhadharma.
